  • Appointment failed

I had made appointment on 15/7/2014 at 11.30a.m. but I am not familiar with the place so I call the H/P NO. 0187928105 and tell her I will call her again when I reach the place hear her shop. But when I reach there and phone Ms. Kimberly, she switch off the hand phone and I phone and email about half an hour there is no reply. What can living social help. My voucher No. 1000202083317. I had call Living social and Isan answer me and tell me Kimberly will call me but is already one week there is no news. More...

  • Disappointed.

In the month of May of 2014 I purchased a bluetooth device from LivingSocial.com. It is now late June and I still have not received my purchased product. I didn't know if there was a mix-up or if the shipment was late so I emailed them. I waited patiently and was professional in every email I sent; trying to be open minded. It took them about a week to respond and their response wasn't even a personal response. They wanted me to take a survey on their customer service. The irony. I thought maybe the real response was sent to my spam or I deleted it without noticing so I... More...

  • Payless Airport Parking sold through Living Social

I thought I had left in plenty of time for the airport but hit a lot of construction and traffic jams. By the time I was near the airport, I knew I was cutting the time close so I called Payless to see how long their service would take. I was told a shuttle would be waiting for us and leave as soon as we were ready. Neither was true. We had to wait 5-10 minutes for the shuttle. As we were leaving, pulling out of the parking lot, the woman at the desk radioed the driver to turn around and pick up another group. We begged him to bring us, that we would miss our flight. He didn't even... More...

Before Christmas 2013 I ordered from Living Social Deals four lots of candles, 4 Vouchers x £15.00 per deal. The above voucher numbers were given and each time I tried to get into Bentley and Karvels website the deal was stating with p & p £42.98 per set of candles. I contacted Living Social Deals (who my contract was with)and they told me to contact Bentley and Karvel. Despite numerous recorded deliveries (i.e. letters) to them they have ignored me and the tel. no. that I got from Living Social is unobtainable. They still have my sixty pounds and Living Social has made... More...

  • Horse Shoe Bay resort

The picture of the pool on the website is not the one at the hotel. The website does not mention anything about taking a shuttle to the marina or the spa. We had to change rooms 3 times because the air did not work. Living Social response was...it is 90 degrees in Texas that's just how it is there. We left without staying and was told because the hotel was trying to work with us, by moving us 3 times (not sending a valet to get our luggage) that we could not get a refund! More...

  • Supreme medispa , Woodward Street Wellington, Voucher

I had been given a voucher to SUPREME MEDISPA WELLINGTON for Christmas and went to redeem this only to be told there was no flexibility on the 3 month expiration date. I accept responsibility for not checking but standard is 6-12 months so was not happy when told that the manager had said a definite NO to honouring any of the $200.00 voucher. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT NO ONE PURCHASE VOUCHERS WITH THESE PEOPLE as they have NO BUSINESS OR MORAL ETHICS. Very poor experience, this business is not to be trusted. More...

  • Where is my order? No one seems to know...

Most of their physical goods are shipping from overseas, not from Australia, even though I bought from the Australian Living Social site. Ordered some fancy sheets for 40% off or so. After waiting 4 weeks, emailed customer service to find out what was happening, as the tracking number they sent me was not working. Have emailed several times since and keep getting told "Your order will be with you soon. Please wait"... in the meantime, I have waited 7 weeks. Still no sheets. Customer service still telling me to please be patient, even though they have no idea where my parcel is. I... More...

  • Feetness Podiatry - Foot Assessment and Gait Analysis

I purchased a deal on social living £29 to see a foot specialist actual price should have been £100 for 45 minute session which I only had a 25minute session. The husband and wife who perform this practice where absolutely terrible. They wrote down notes played around with my feel and got me to perform various stretches and whilst during the session they talked about tight muscles which I already knew due to doing a lot of exercise, resulting in them advising that I should purchase specialist insoles which are made exactly to my foots requirements which are made in Canada for... • Bad Experience - Barry Manilow Tickets

I have had a bad experience recently in relation to tickets purchased via Living Social for a Barry Manilow gig at the O2 on 26 May 2014. Having had to purchase 4 tickets for some elderly relatives in 2 tranches, Living Social would not make any effort to assist in ensuring that one of the party was not seated separately and alone. Having initially ignored my request for a week they then suggested contacting the O2. O2 said that they did not have access to the Living Social ticket allocation and that it was for LS to arrange. This place is a joke! First they called me just hours before my massage and canceled. After I finally got in again I showed up for my appointment and there was no one there! Naturally I called, left messages, text and waited for 45 minutes and nothing! I hope they were not there because they went out of business!! How inconsiderate! Breakfast is always a delightful surprise, the Inn itself is lovely, and you cannot beat the wine tastings at 5 o'clock that is served with popcorn. • Ministry of Deals - Earphones

Well dealing with LivingSocial and Ministry of Deals is a nightmare, and clearly an ongoing one, since my experience has happened to others. Ministry of Deals not only did not supply me with the goods, but took money out of my account which they were not authorised to do, and they have still held on to it nearly a month later, despite promising that this would be refunded, as well as the postage I would have owed them, if they had delivered the goods. well I’m just a little disappointed with Living social at this point I actually buy everything on here and never have a problem. I purchased the Vineyard tour of Temecula which I don’t have a problem with them. But the actual wine tour I want was the smith entrainment and transportation. I seen this deal many times before but, never purchased it because it would be so early and the expiration would be sooner than when I would need to use it. I haven’t seen this deal for awhile and I assumed that they will never have that deal again because my b-day is in August and that’s what I wanted to do for my b-day a wine tour. So I went ahead and purchased the vineyard wine tour which I looked on yelp and it did have great reviews so does the other one. So I was cool to buy this at the time because I never seen the other one ever come back. Now that they have it back I want to purchase that tour that tour would work out better for me being that they come and pick you up from your home and its 8 people seating and not six and this one was perfect for me because I have eight friends. But, I’m not even asking for a refund I just want to use the funds I already bought to go towards that tour and just have the rest to go to deal bucks which I would still have to use the money on a purchase from living social so I don’t understand the problem because no one will be losing out. I am a loyal customer and yes I understand the refund rules but, really it’s not a refund you guys will not be putting any funds on my pervious credit card used so I just don’t understand why this is so hard to do. Im just really confused why they giving mw a hard time

Here's the difference:

Groupon-
"If the merchant refuses to honor this voucher, Groupon will refund the purchaser the amount paid."

LivingSocial-
"After that[within seven days of purchase], we provide refunds upon request only where the relevant merchant has gone out of business before the promotional period ends."

With a LivingSocial vioucher, if the merchant flakes out (doesn't have availability, decides not to return your calls, or just determines that they want to spend their time on customer who are paying more) you have no recourse through LivingSocial. However, most credit card companies are far more consumer oriented and will side with you! Call yours and ask that the purchase be disputed.

Hey!!! I cannot wait to read more of this. I mean, you just know so much about this. So much of it Ive never even thought of. You sure did put a new twist on something that Ive heard so much about. I dont believe Ive actually read anything that does this subject as good justice as you just did. :) :)

Do not purchase anything through living social! Purchased a deal to Bali in Aug 2012...flights and accom incl. We hoped that we would be able to book for Oct 2012 but were told that there were no available flights. So we booked for March 2013. I received an email advising that I would need to wait until 2 weeks before departure for our e-tickets. So when we were 2 weeks away from our holiday I called Living Social only to be told that the company we purchased the deal through – Travelsmoove went into liquidation. LS said that Travelsmoove should have called us to notify us. My argument was that the deal was purchased with LS and it was their responsibility to notify us. A simple phone call would have sufficed....or an email...anything! So now we have to wait 10 working days for our money to be refunded. So far, no apology received...just an email telling us that they will not be doing anything about it. GREAT customer service.

I purchased a voucher for $129.00 good to use on botox or dermal fillers (value $270). Long story short, the "Changes Spa" in Aiken, SC would not honor the voucher. They expected me to pay another $500. That was not on the fine print of the voucher. He (tech at spa) would give me no services at all. He told me to go home and save my money and then come back and he could honor the voucher!! I explained to several Livingsocial reps this was fraudulent business practices, and I wanted a refund. Well, turns out that LivingSocial do not give refunds. I talked with six people. They do not care how much you have spent with them, how loyal a customer you are, if you leave their site, or if you tell everyone you know of your bad experience. I contend that the consumer drives the market. If they get enough bad press, then they will have no one using their services/site. They want to give me deal bucks. Well, if I have a receipt in any retail market, they will give back a refund. These people are not loyal and so there is no need to ever use them again. I will tell everyone on FB and every other social media I use. Hopefully, everyone will go to the competitors and maybe then it will click with Social Living they are not the only game in town.

I purchased a coupon for Penn Monroe Grill in Monroeville. I have purchased food coupons before and I look at the food offered and the location so I make sure it is a good fit for my taste in food and how far I am willing to drive for a meal. A few days before the coupon was to expire, I made arrangements for my daughter and granddaughter to eat lunch there. Having arrived before me, my daughter called to inform me that the sign on the door of the business stated "Smoking allowed and no one over 18 admitted" No where on the description I read for the coupon did it say anything about adults only and smoking allowed. They only advertised the variety of the food served there. Turns out it was a bar with booths for eat in food. The waitress was kind enough to let me use my coupon for takeout, but I would have NEVER purchased the coupon in the first place, had I known it was a bar. I am very disappointed that I was misled as to the type of establishment this was. That being said, the food wasn't bad, and I am grateful they let me use the value of the coupon for take out, so I WAS able to eat, but I had counted on a sit down lunch with my family. Very disappointing!

I had a HORRIBLE experience at Ruffles Hairstyle and Design. I bought two vouchers each costing $29. They told me it will cost an additional $50 for longer hair for each person (their meaning of long hair is anything longer than a short boy hair cut). Each time I tried to make an appointment for manicure and pedicure they said they were busy and finally when I was closer to the expiration date I told them I needed an appointment right away but they apparently don't take appointments during the weekend for people with vouchers and can only do tues or wed when everyone is busy with work. I can't even go after work because they close at 7, I tried talking to the owner but she was veryy rude and hostile and hung up on me. I called again but they did not pick up. Livingsocial did not give me a refund for this. WORST EXPERIENCE EVERR...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO NOT PURCHASE VOUCHERS FROM RUFFLES HAIRSTYLE AND DESIGN..THEY'RE HORRIBLE!!

I purchased 2 of the most expensive tickets to Cirque du Soleil at Staples Center in Los Angeles. They cost $336 for the two tickets and were labeled premiere seating. They were according to the ad copy be on the floor or the next section up. The tickets instead were about 4 sections up and in a corner. So far my wife needed to use her opera glasses to see anything that went on. The tickets were terrible and way over priced. Our entire section purchased the tickets through Living Social. No one was happy. The regular cost of the tickets would have been $400 so we saved $64, but others who purchased directly from Staples would have had their choice of seats. The entire night with dinner near Staples, parking and misc. costs was over $600. I will never buy anything through Living Social and suggest anyone else to the same. Save 10% and have a terrible time. When I complained to customer service they offered me $20 in Living Social dollars, big deal. Groupon is a company you can trst and Living Social is a scam!

To Whom It May Concern,

I am very disappointed and let down at the quality and poor execution of a deal that was purchased for me last March by my mother Elizabeth Burke.

Voucher #100061813990 This voucher was emailed to Maricka (marickaburke@gmail.com) on 2012-03-06.

The deal was Gentle Awareness Yoga by Joyfulljourney . Four (€19).

As it was a gift purchased by my mother I was at first please as this was something I wanted to try and this was a great way of trying it out.

Then came the extremely disappointing customer journey, the only way to contact the person who was running this deal was a mobile number that was never answer. Only three weeks ago I managed to get through to talk to the lady Claire who is the lady I believe is in charge of these lessons.

Everything seemed scattered, I told her I had this voucher and she asked where I would like to do it as there were two locations. I said Furbo, and she told me the classes are on a Monday at 6.30pm till 7pm. This phone call itself seemed scattered as she didn't at that stage ask for a reference number as I believed she would have as the voucher mentioned it.

Anyways to move this complaint on, and please note that this is most definitely a complaint. The first being the poor communication of the person running the event, giving a mobile number that you just don't answer too and get back to the messages is just not good enough.

When I did FINALLY get through to her which was just 3 weeks ago, I asked about the lessons. In furbo she said the only option available after work is on a Monday at 6.30pm. When I spoke to her it was 14th June, it was not possible for me to make it on Monday June 18th as I was at a work event in Dublin. Therefore we agreed, although she didn't take my number/reference number that I would start on June 25th 2012 at 6.30.

At 6.15-6.23pm whilst on the way to this house and near the house (at the church) I called the mobile number on the receipt for directions. Please note the POORLY written directions on the offer - 'house in a field across from Furbo Church'

"Ballynahown (house in field across from Furbo church)
Furbo
Co Galway,
(087) 242-7992".

I stopped near the church and asked a local did they know where this house was, they at first laughed at the directions and said the only place they could think off is down this little road and pointed me in the direction whilst sauyying be careful as it was a 'very bad road'. Don't get me wrong I am in no way complaining to anyone about the bad road, but this was a sign of things to come.

I arrived at the house she described to me at 6.25pm on Monday 25th June 2012, rang the door bell at the side no answer, I then proceeded to the front door and rang the doorbell there two. Please note I also knocked on all these doors where I rang the door bell of, there was no answer. There were two cars parked outside, a blue and and a navy car. I waited at the door for 10-15 minutes, whilst also calling 087 2427992. The number on the receipt, there was no answer as earlier on this phone. I also asked a Gardner who was outside was this the house that done Yoga lessons he believed it was.

Then I thought, after all the calling, texting and ringing of door bells that maybe I did come at the wrong time. Mis-communication, human error - it does happen.

I went down to a local petrol station (the only petrol station in furbo), I asked them about this house and do they know anything about. They said they did not know too much but they too were kind enough to try the number from their landline too, they too were appalled that someone had agreed to me showing up and did not answer the door and were also not answering their mobile. After the petrol station and calling her number from there too I went back down to the house. I know I was at the right house as I had asked so many people at this stage and there was a blue car as described parked outside the house.

At this stage, after ensuring that I made it there on time and leaving my workplace at 5.30pm in Parkmore to ensure I made it there on time - at this stage I am not happy. It already was an extremely messy and UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE up until now and this next sentence is not about self importance it is about life and the way it is now. I do not have time to waste like the, I wasted diesel, valuable time, phone credit and my energy on a Yoga lesson I was going to enjoy.

To make matters more insulting, this women Clare returned none of my calls, messages or text messages I left on her phone. I finally got through to her today, in theory today would have been week 2. I told her I was there, and she said that the lesson did go ahead and she must not have 'heard to door bell' or the 'door bell might not be working'. To me it is either one or the other and not that hard to figure it out so that poor excuse was an insult to my intelligence, I heard the door bell when I rand it. For my first visit I rang it over 10 times, I did this on both the side door and the front door I also knocked on the door and two of the front windows. This was at 6.27pm-6.45pm. I then drove off as described above, talked to the Gardner who believed there was someone was in the house and this is where the yoga was done.

Today I FINALLY got through to Clare, after one week she had yet to reply to my texts, voicemails and miss calls so I called her today as in theory I should be on my second yoga lesson now. Clare was very passive on the phone and just making up excuses, the first being Maybe I was at the wrong house - then I told her I took a picture for proof ( I did not trust this whole process after my time was wasted last Monday', then it soon moved too 'maybe I didn't hear the doorbell', then 'may be the doorbell isn't working' - this to me as stated above was an insult to my intelligence and yes and this stage I was not happy and I told her that. I know the door bell was working at the side door as I heard it, I was at her house at 6.25 and there was no answer, I have my phone bills, text messages and also local residence and a local gardner to prove that I was there. I can also show that I tried to call her many times prior to 6.30, during and after.

My mother has generally had a good enough experience with Living Social, however this experience as seriously underminded our whole perception of what you do as a company and the type of people you do business with. This women has accepted OUR money and not provided a service, to make matters even worse she told me today that my anger would not be good for these Yoga lessons. I told her to stop making false accusations when she said I was aggressive, I said my friend is listening to the conversation and I have written down the dialogue and there was nothing aggressive about it. Yes I was confronting her as to why I didn't receive what I paid for, why there was no answer and I was very insulted with some of the answers she gave me.

I am an Online Marketer and I do not see how doing business with a lady like this offers any long term business to the living social brand or company. I am very upset at the way this has gone and I am waiting to see what will be done about it. The fact of the matter is we did not get what we paid four, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get it with someone who doesn't answer there phone. I have wasted time, petrol, phone calls and more time even writing this letter. I am just utterly appalled that this type of business is going on.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Many Thanks,

Maricka

I purchased the mattress deal from the Stradforshire furniture shop through livingsocial. IT'S ALLLL A SCAM!!! I will never use living social again or any other sites like that for that matter. I have had to call them over and over again and they have never replied -either by e-mail or phone. I am thinking to take it further and contact the relevant authorities. Customers beware, NEVER BUY FROM LIVING SOCIAL, IT'S A NIGHTMARE, YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!!

A lot of people dont realise that Living Social have a clause in their contracts for merchants. They say they pay in x period of time, however if they opt to use this clause they wont pay you until clients redeem, and even then it can be 2 weeks+ before you see any money, even if clients paid months ago.
This often means merchants wont honor until they get paid, and why should they. Living Social hold onto the money and clients and merchants get screwed.

I have contacted Living Social's customer service team three times as I cannot get access to the voucher I purchased. They have not replied. I tried calling but there's too long a delay (and I think it may be a premium rate number). Bad experience.

Terrible customer service (from the manager too)in Australia.Did not care about customer feedback.

The "fine print'/ terms of use are not specific - I purchased a voucher for lunch for 2. I went to the cafe on sunday and was not allowed to use it on the weekend. The fine/print only said "Bookings available monday-friday" and "bookings essential", which they claim is specific enough to imply that it can't be used on weekends. I work Mon-Fri and so do all my friends. I asked for a refund and they refused.

I think this site offers some good bargains, BUT here's the catch.... you may purchase a deal. You might get a confirmation screen. BUT when you go to get your deal, it won't be there because your credit card information never stored properly NOR your email address...even if you are getting daily subscription emails. I bought a deal and took a screenshot of the confirmation screen. A week went by and when I went into my account, no deal was there. I contacted customer service who said I would not receive the deal because my card was not valid (even though it IS valid and was accepted for other deals) and I should have contacted them through an email link within 5 days....only I never received any email (and yes, I checked my spam folder). So, too bad so sad for me, but make sure if you deal with this company, that you double triple check your account (unlike the ease offered by many other more trustworthy sites) that you did in fact get the deal because screen shots of confirmations get you no where. On a final note, I had a pending charge on my credit card, but it never finalized...don't know why...

Emailed help@livingsocial.com twice and gotten no replies. Could only reach a customer service rep on the phone who could not offer refunds for their error, only dealbucks.

BUYER BEWARE! Extremely poor customer service-- In less than 6 months, I have requested 3 refunds due to merchants being promoted on this site that either go out of business before you can use your 'deal' or merchants who refuse to honor your purchased 'deal'. The first refund was for a deal with a deli in Knoxville, TN called 'Webster's Deli'. This deli went out of business within 2 weeks of me purchasing my Social Living deal with them. In this instance, I contacted Social Living and was issued a refund right away via my original credit card transaction. The second and third refund was for 2 house cleaning deals with 'Worldwide Domestic Services'. I purchased the deals in August, 2010 and tried no fewer than 10 times over a 3-month period to contact the merchant to set up an appointment to have my home cleaned. I finally gave up after Thanksgiving and contacted Social Living for a refund. I was told by a robotic customer care manager that, because I had waited more than 90 days to request a refund, then I would have to wait up to 3 WEEKS for my refund via a paper check!! He also told me that they are not required to disclose this delay in refunds after 90 days to their consumers. The manager ended up hanging up on me and when I called back I was told that it was a 'phone glitch'. Really . . .
